The GRATA (Groupe de Recherche et d’Action pour des Techniques Autonomisantes – Research and Action Groupe for Empowering Techniques) is a french collective, based in Upper-Normandy, which is supporting the creation of a multifonctional and social farm: le Jardin des 400 Goûts (untranslatable pun with the title of a classic french movie, « Les 400 Coups »).

We currently work on different areas, along with the preliminary study for the farm. This year, we wish to elaborate a program of actions and reflexions around these topics: practical ecology, urban agriculture, solidarity, empowerment (both individual and collective), and popular education. This program will include short-term and long-term events, such as meetings, workshops, collective writing and reports for an a-periodical publication.

As we all come from different backgrounds, we don’t use exactly the same words or references to describe every part of the project, but we all recognize ourselves in the movement toward a social, economic, political and cultural alternative to capitalism and every process of domination.
